When the turn of political events requires Maine's tribes to assert their sovereignty, they don't have to do it alone. They get support from a non-tribal coalition that stands in solidarity with them, marching at demonstrations, meeting with elected officials, writing letters and letting the public know it's okay for non-Native people to side with Indians.
