CWIS provides a limited number of internship opportunities in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Olympia, Washington and through Virtual mentorship. These internships provide individuals opportunities to gain skills and contribute to research, writing, clinical and administrative activities.
Internships are very competitive, as we cannot accept all those who apply. The internships are individualized for each student. We accept undergraduates, graduates and post graduate students as well as others who are not in an academic program who want the internship experience.

We support an approach to professional and personal development, that integrates intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual growth. Most of the projects and departments are interdisciplinary by nature, and provide interns with a broad range of opportunities for both learning and practical application. Areas of focus may include indigenous studies, geopolitics diplomacy, consciousness studies, and public policy issues relating to health, the environment and biodiversity. We also offer clinical and virtual research internships in natural medicine, traditional healing and health, spirituality and traditional medicine, community trauma, health psychology, nutrition and ethnobotany and. Interns who desire experience working in a non-profit in the administrative, financial and/or marketing side may also request placement.

Interns are asked to commit to a minimum of at least four months, 20-40 hours per week or six -twelve months during the school year. College credit may be arranged at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Supervision is provided by a senior faculty or staff. The terms of supervision, which may include either individual or group processes are negotiated on an individual basis.
