Welcome... The Research
Branch is a expansion of the Chief George Manuel Memorial
Library which is the indigenous peoples’ node for the World
Wide Web Library System. Individuals from more than three
hundred learning institutions around the world use the George
Manuel Library every month. Researchers, learners and
educators around the world have been using this reliable
collection of documents, reports and papers since 1992 when we
first opened the library.
Now with the Research Branch
we offer an opportunity to the Library’s users to extend
their inquiries into the Center for World Indigenous Studies
substantial file archive collection that contains thousands of
more documents, reports, and papers written by indigenous
peoples in a wide range of fields. The Research Branch
has now and will increasingly include as we grow materials in
the following categories:
Traditional Healing Arts and Sciences
Fourth World Geopolitics
Sustainable Development
Fourth World Environmental law, management, and analysis
Economic Development, Planning.
Education
Social Change
Fourth World Constitutions, Laws, Resolutions and Customary
Practices.
International Institutions, laws and customs
Traditional Knowledge, Consciousness Studies, and Research
The George Manuel Memorial Library has been a trusted and
reliable resource for researchers, learners, educators as well
as institutions and government agencies for more than a
decade. The Research Branch area is the next project to
increase access to information about and the knowledge
of Fourth World peoples. This service is for and used by
registered students.
