A limited number of Internships and Fellowships are available at CWIS offices in the United States of America. A competitive application must be completed and all fees paid for each of these positions.

Application Requirements
A successful applicant for any internship or fellowship with Center for World Indigenous Studies at our Headquarters in Olympia, WA (USA) is resourceful, works hard, has skills to offer, and is a serious learner who wishes to expand her/his potential. You may also expect to benefit from participating in a community of scholars, clinicians and activists and gain experience that will promote the health and well-being of people as you expand your skills for a productive career. Depending upon the focus of the project, Spanish or English language knowledge may or may not be required. At our Olympia Headquarters you will benefit from intensive opportunities to work with researchers, work on communications projects, work on education projects.

Only complete applications will be considered. A complete application includes the following:

  1. Completed and signed Application form (electronic or hard copy)
  2. Two letters of reference
  3. Curriculum Vitae/ Resume
  4. Application Fee (non-refundable)
  5. Cover letter specifying additional information to be considered
  6. Two page discussion of the role of development and how efforts toward development harm or benefit indigenous communities
