This Tlingit and Haida tribal resolution declared a worldwide climate emergency on the 1st of October 2020. In order to combat this emergency, the Tlingit and Haida tribes of Alaska committed to climate mobilization that would help transition the United States to a carbon neutral economy by 2050. Further, the tribes resolved to develop adaptation and resilience strategies in preparation for intensifying climate events.
