Controversies Around Endangered Indigenous Languages in the Canadian Arctic

This paper discusses the effectiveness of the 2019 Canadian Indigenous Languages Act in preserving and revitalizing Arctic languages. Although large strides were taken to bring attention to Arctic language endangerment in Canada through the act, many First Nations officials believed it to be colonial in nature, and not far-reaching enough.
