Observations on the State of Indigenous Human Rights in Papua New Guinea

This document was prepared by Cultural Survival for the United Nations Human Rights Council in March 2021. It describes the inadequacy of Papuan governmental policies regarding indigenous rights. Specifically, the document cites the erosion of Indigenous land by extractive industries, the violation of indigenous women’s rights and the impairment of indigenous health outcomes as ongoing issues.
