Paper discusses MISURASATA, the joint military/political organization of the Miskito, Sumo and Rama Nations whose territories are known as Wan Tasbia or the Atlantic region of Nicaragua. Topics discussed in this paper include deprivation of basic necessities, forcible relocation and confinement, Nicaraguan Military offensives against Indian Communities, the recent flights of Miskito refugees to Honduras, and Nicaragua’s failure to respect Indian rights.
