The Indigenous World 2021: Eritrea

This document, authored by the International Work Group for Indigenous Affairs, discusses indigenous issues in Eritrea. It specifically outlines the impact of the Ethiopian Tigray conflict on indigenous Eritreans, the impact of COVID-19 on indigenous communities, and a new claim of indigeneity made by a newly-formed and radical political movement known as Agazian. It was found that this movement has led to an increase in anti-Muslim violence on behalf of indigenous actors.
