Description

This Congressional act modifies and reauthorizes various programs and provisions related to Tibet and China. It mandates that the President provide funds to non governmental organizations for projects supporting Tibetan communities in Tibet and in areas such as sustainable economic development, cultural preservation, and education. Further, the State Department will not authorize any new Chinese consulates in the US until a US consulate has been established in Lhasa.
