This open letter calls on Marcelo Augusto Xavier, the President of FUNAI, to revoke Resolution 4/2021 – a document which states that the recognition of an individual by an ethnic group should be consistent with a definition based on scientific criteria. The letter cites UNDRIP principles in its reasoning.
