August 1997. World Congress on Violence and Human CoExistence, University College, Dublin, Ireland. This statement focuses on the enormous releases of radionuclides from the operation of the Hanford Nuclear facilities from 1944 to present and declares the initiation of a lawsuit on behalf of Native Americans throughout the Pacific Northwest. It asserts claims of personal injury, violation of the Native Americans’ Constitutional rights and related claims. These claims are supported by signs of sickness that appeared in fish and people that live in or around the Columbia River near Hanford’s facilities.
