Royal Dutch Shell faces trial in February for complicity in murder, torture and crimes against humanity in Nigeria. Charges in Wiwa v Shell stem from the devastation of the Ogoni people and their land by Shell and the Nigerian government. The genocide against the region of Biafra began over forty years ago.
The library is dedicated to the memory of Secwepemc Chief George Manuel (1921-1989), to the nations of the Fourth World and to the elders and generations to come.
