Renowned Irish filmmaker Ken Loach explains why he felt compelled to remove his film from the Melbourne International Film Festival. In short, one of the sponsors of the festival is the State of Israel. As Loach notes, the failure of international law and the government of the United States to hold Israel accountable for apartheid, makes the cultural and academic boycott of Israel all that more important.
