First Nations in British Columbia opposed to oil pipelines and supertankers assert their right to say no. As guardians of the north coast and the mountains, First Nations assert that by invoking international law, they serve as an impenetrable political barrier to pumping tar sands toxins across their unceded territories. By making this claim, they no doubt are already in the crosshairs of the oil companies and the RCMP–something for them and their allies to keep in mind.
