From Gaza With Love

A year ago July, Le Monde diplomatique published a one-week excerpt from the weblog of Palestinian Red Crescent physician Mona El-Farra. Last week, after a speaking tour that took Dr. El-Farra across Europe and the United States, the People’s Weekly World covered her presentation in Chicago.

As a middle-age mother and spokeswoman for a generation of indigenous people that has never known freedom, I find Mona El-Farra’s testimony of daily life in the seashore city of Gaza where she grew up a refreshing contrast to the hyperbolic dualism of mainstream media.

But don’t take my word for it; read what she has to say for yourself.
