Aboriginals say the Australian government is out of step by attempting to suspend cultural heritage laws in order to dump radioactive waste on their traditional lands. In Muckaty Voices, a short film about the conflict, traditional owners note the dreaming track through Muckaty—a concept foreign to most European settlers, but as reminded by Aboriginal activists, a sacredness that resides both on the land and in our hearts.
The library is dedicated to the memory of Secwepemc Chief George Manuel (1921-1989), to the nations of the Fourth World and to the elders and generations to come.
