Peruvian Policy

Indigenous women from the district of Cuzco in the Peruvian Andes are still seeking restitution for the forced sterilization program used against them by the Peruvian government in the 1990s. As a genocidal policy of the Fujimori Administration, no progress has been made on a settlement with the 300,000 women sterilized against their will. Despite indications that the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights supports their claim for this crime against humanity, several personnel responsible for carrying out the policy are now in high governmental positions.
