Battling Bacteria

According to the World Health Organization, the misuse of antibiotics over the last thirty years has ushered in a new age of drug resistant bacteria, including virulent new forms of  tuberculosis. While epidemics are largely confined to Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, and South America, looming plagues could become worldwide in the next decade.  As pharmaceutical companies have now abandoned research on these drugs, some countries are turning to traditional medicine for help.
