President Obama held a speech on Friday, January 27th in front of about 75 American Indian leaders who attended a fundraiser for his reelection campaign. In his address Obama expresses commitment to improve the lives of “our first Americans” and emphasizes his belief “that one day we’re going to be able to look back on these years and say this was a turning point in nation to-nation relations.”
The library is dedicated to the memory of Secwepemc Chief George Manuel (1921-1989), to the nations of the Fourth World and to the elders and generations to come.
