When indigenous communities have a genuine say in development, they can preserve their way of life and that of the animals with which they share the land. In Namibia, that means a future where they can remain on the land and engage with the outside world without sacrificing their sovereignty.
The library is dedicated to the memory of Secwepemc Chief George Manuel (1921-1989), to the nations of the Fourth World and to the elders and generations to come.
