In a ruling today by U.S. District Judge Robert S. Lasnik, Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad will have its day in court, to explain why it should be allowed to violate a written agreement with Swinomish Indian Tribal Community, thereby threatening the public health and safety of tribal members and guests by transporting Bakken Crude “bomb trains” across the Swinomish Indian Reservation.
The library is dedicated to the memory of Secwepemc Chief George Manuel (1921-1989), to the nations of the Fourth World and to the elders and generations to come.
