Integrating Intellectual Integrity

Between the conformity of state–sponsored institutions of higher learning, and the corruptibility of market–derived think tanks, there is little space left for integrating intellectual integrity. Thus by design there is nearly nowhere to go for leading intellectuals unwilling to conform or corrupt themselves within the confines of restricted thought and perverted values of the status quo. What this means in the real world is that fundamental problems of existence not only go unsolved, but are systematically exacerbated, leaving only tenuous networks of the avant garde to scrounge the resources necessary to prevent the extinguishing of enlightenment.
