As reported by Al Jazeera, Shell Oil essentially rules the state of Nigeria. In addition to the Wikileaks release of Shell documents, The Real News Network recently held a webcast about freedom of the Internet in holding accountable all abusers of power. They also did a segment on the carbon cartel’s Copenhagen Accord, Tar Sands, and the carbon offset fiction promoted by the US in Cancun. Friends of Peoples Close to Nature, an indigenous friendly organization whose website was attacked by Indonesian authorities for revealing Wikileaks information about atrocities in West Papua, is also on the front line of resistance against dirty secrets. They join Intercontinental Cry and other indigenous media in exposing brutality toward Fourth World nations in such countries as Kenya, Canada and Australia.
The library is dedicated to the memory of Secwepemc Chief George Manuel (1921-1989), to the nations of the Fourth World and to the elders and generations to come.
