Shattered Hearts: The Commercial Sexual Exploitation of American Indian Women and Girls in Minnesota, is a groundbreaking study on the effects of historical trauma, the normalization of sexual exploitation and violence, and the limited resources available for healing. Published by the Minnesota Indian Women’s Resource Center, the report cites earlier work by CWIS associate scholar Melissa Farley.
The library is dedicated to the memory of Secwepemc Chief George Manuel (1921-1989), to the nations of the Fourth World and to the elders and generations to come.
