Mother Earth Journal reports that Reverend Kevin Annett was arrested and deported from England over the weekend. Annett, a human rights activist from British Columbia, is an outspoken advocate for indigenous children killed through violence and neglect at church-run residential schools in Canada and the United States. Hounded at home by the RCMP and church authorities, Annett and families of the lost children have taken their protests to the Vatican, as well as high courts in Canada. This summer in London, they plan to convene an International Tribunal into Crimes of Church and State. Aware of this unwanted notoriety, British Customs decided to prevent Annett’s entry for the purpose of speaking engagements in England.
