Given the potential for genocide and ethnic cleansing in Central Africa, the African Commission’s Working Group on Indigenous Populations reports on the Republic of Congo and Democratic Republic of Congo are likely worth reading. Replete with strategic minerals, Central Africa is already on the Pentagon’s radar, as well as that of China. With another large influx of arms and cash to develop corporate friendly states in the region, indigenous peoples dependent on intact ecosystems will be lucky to survive, let alone flourish.
