Indian Country Today highlights the upcoming gathering of the UN Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, where the theme will be the Doctrine of Discovery, an outdated Christian colonial mandate that continues to plague indigenous peoples under the laws of backward modern states like Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the US.
The library is dedicated to the memory of Secwepemc Chief George Manuel (1921-1989), to the nations of the Fourth World and to the elders and generations to come.
