Horrible Crime

So what kind of horrible crime could justify the equivalent of marshal law imposed by the Government of Australia on the Aboriginal communities in the Northern Territory? According to the Australian government, it was rampant child abuse. So after examining 7,433 Aboriginal children, doctors referred 39 to authorities for suspected abuse, and of those, 4 possible cases have been identified—no more than the average throughout white Australia.

So now that all those harassed families and traumatized communities have been rousted by Australian military and police for doing nothing out of the ordinary, other than try to survive in a country that stole their wealth and ruined their health, is the Government of Australia apologizing or otherwise attempting to make amends? No, they are planning to extend the racist policies that led to the invasion in the first place.

I guess that’s what they call progress down there.
