Charles Tanner Jr reports on the revival of Sea Shepherd’s campaign against Makah treaty rights, in advance of the April 27 hearing in Seattle by the National Marine Fisheries Service, addressing a request by the Makah Tribe to exercise their treaty-reserved right to hunt whales. In 2005, says Tanner, “Sea Shepherd echoed the rhetoric of the organized anti-Indian movement…through a campaign of mean-spirited bigotry.”
