The US Department of State canceled a “side-event” planned for the UN Conference of Parties 16 meeting in Cancun. The session was to include tribal participants, but the UN would not allow tribal officials to participate unless they were US government employees or non-governmental organization representatives. They were tribal officials. That was not allowed.
The library is dedicated to the memory of Secwepemc Chief George Manuel (1921-1989), to the nations of the Fourth World and to the elders and generations to come.
