The National Congress of American Indians adds its voice to that of the Assembly of First Nations in opposition to the pumping of Canadian Alberta Tar Sands oil across the Oglalla Aquifer to be refined on the Gulf of Mexico. The U.S. State Department, a proponent of the pipeline project, has received stern criticism from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
